37. In Wonderland
"I don't think that this is a good idea..." The Angel is worried and clutching the cloak around him as Mar'ca pulls the hood up to cover the white hair.

"You need to stretch and exercise your wing if you want it to heal. The human world won't be safe, the heavens isn't so there's only Hell left. And don't worry, I know a place." He wraps two arms around the Angel who tenses up at the sudden touch, even though it's not skin against skin it's still something he's not used to.

Mar'ca leads him out of his home and the angel blinks in surprise when he is faced with the sight of Hell. It's not dark and dank, like he has believed. It's bright, lit by a tiny sun and warm, bustling with demons and things, weird plants that he has never seen before grow everywhere and there is something about the entire place that screams 'safety'.

The demons here don't look so scary, instead they are bustling about, talking, laughing and living in a way he has never seen before. It is so very different from Heaven and everything he has ever known.

Mar'ca has to pull the Angel along with him since the other barely seems able to tear his gaze away from everything.

It isn't until they have gotten away and out to the outskirts of Hell, where there are more fields then anything and the houses are far apart that the Angel dares to speak up.

“Is this really Hell?” He whispers, looking around still.

“Yes, the north part.” Mar'ca glances down at him and chuckles. “Not what you expected?”

The Angel shakes his head. “Not in the slightest...” He doesn't say that Hell seems a lot more friendly and nicer then Heaven.

“You still shouldn't just wander out in the open, we might seem nice but you're still the enemy, they will probably kill you if they stumble upon you.” Mar'ca warns before stopping and looking around. They are standing outside a big underground forest where the trees reach high, almost touching the vaulted, cave ceiling.

“Through here and we should be far enough out of sight.” Mar'ca decides and they head into the woods. To the Angel the forest seems to go on for ages and he keeps getting hit by branches. There are no forests like this in heaven so this is something entirely new to him.

After having walked among the trees for a while a small voice of fear starts yammering in the Angel's head. Maybe the demon is taking him out here to kill him? Or something worse? Maybe this was his plan all along? And the kind smiles were just a facade?

“There!” Mar'ca stops and carefully pulls the cloak of the Angel. They are standing in a large clearing and the ceiling has narrowed a bit only to shoot up again, creating a small pocket where the Angel can fly without anyone spotting him.

The Angel looks up towards the ceiling in surprise. The demon really did take him to a place where he can fly.

“Come on now, we can't be standing around here all day.”

The Angel looks at the demon but Mar'ca is smiling, his words not as harsh as they sounded. Slowly he unfolds his wings and stretches them out, careful with the one that has been broken. They are longer them him when they are wide and the shadow they cast on the ground cover plenty of the grass and tiny flowers there.

Mar'ca takes several steps back to give the Angel some room and then the Angel moves his wings, carefully and hesitantly at first before he shoots up in the air. The demon runs out into the clearing to keep the Angel in sight in case something were to go wrong. He smiles when everything seems all right at first as the Angel soars around high up in the air, wings beating strong and steadily.

The Angel doesn't know what surprises him the most, the fact that he is still alive and that the demon really took him somewhere where he can stretch his wings, or the fact that his wing has been healed by a demon. His happiness doesn't last for very long and soon he felt himself grow tiered in a way he isn't used to at all. He tries to stay up a little longer, not wanting to stop flying, stop feeling this alive. Then a bolt of pain runs through his wing and he is falling, plummeting towards the ground. He tries to spread his wings to stop the fall or at least slow it down, but the left one won't move. The ground is coming closer and closer and he shuts his eyes before he is to crash. Suddenly he stops falling.

He cracks his eyes open to find the demons face above his, his brow furrowed in concentration and four strong arms are cradling him carefully. Other then a little bruised the Angel feels surprisingly fine.

"You really shouldn't make a habit of falling like that." The demon chuckles before his face grows serious. "You are still healing, you should be careful. "

The angel just nods and looks up at him. This is the second- no, third time this very demon had saved him. And he still can't believe why. Why in this weird place that he has heard so much bad about, does there exist someone as kind ind illogical as this demon. It feels like he is tumbling down a long, narrow hole of feelings but he knows that in the end there is going to be someone there to catch him. ...this very demon.
"My name is Beeth. And thank you." The Angel tells the demon, a small smile on his face.

Ugh, these two! I love them so much! And this was adorable and cute and wonderful. Though I'm worrying now that eventually Beeth's gonna get discovered and everything's gonna go tits up!
